Hello Friends,
I am honored to serve as the new President of the Friends of the La Mesa Library. I have lived in La Mesa for about two and a half years, though I was born and raised in Southern California. One of the things I love most about our city is its walkability and small-town feel, all while being close to the vibrancy of a big city.
Libraries have been a part of my life since my earliest memories. As a child, my family did not have a cable at home, so the library became both my teacher and my entertainment. After 14 years as President of the Friends of the La Mesa Library, I am happy to announce that our organization has found a new leader. At our annual general membership meeting on September 28th, Melony Watson stepped forward to take on the role of President. She joins Robin Theilmann (Vice President), Christine Ly (Secretary), Leslie Stump (Publicity), Justin Walker (Membership), and me (Treasurer) as your new board. We now have a vibrant younger group that will continue to look for ways to improve and promote library services to our city.
